Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!!

Fishing has been picking up in the Tomahawk area with the best fishing happening on the Somo right now. Reports of many fisherman catching 12-14" perch on Milwaukee shiners, fatheads and even medium shiners!!

Bluegills are being caught on lake alice, somo, and mohawksin in the stump fields. Waxies, spikes and Chena bait are hot right now. Crappie fishing has been picking up now that the ice is a bit safer to venture out near the channels. Fish deep for the slabs this time of year.

Walleyes are being caught in the shallow weedy areas. Many fisherman suspect that they are pinning the small bluegill fry and baitfish to the shorelines as reports came in of walleyes being filleted and they were packed full of tiny bluegills.

Pike action is holding steady throughout the area with reports of many being caught in the 25-30" range. Large Shiners and Northern Suckers have been working great near drop offs, bars, and mouths of bays.

Hope to see you all soon, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
