For the past 2 day I was on the ice in the bays around Fremont. With 12 inches of ice every where I went the ice is good for walking as 4 wheelers.
Yesterday we had over 40 fish 1/2 of them were small enough to let go. But we had 20 nice fish.
Today we have 18 fish and most were caught in the morning with the afternoon being slow.
The trick to catching the fish was the spring bobber and the vexlar. We would see the fish with the vexlar and then we watched the spring bobber for any change. I thought it was a lot of fun this was really fishing. For the bait we used the gill pill. I love this bait we tried using some other jigs without any luck. I did find that yesterday was cloudy and the fish loved the yellow and we had a blast with them. Today the sun was out we tried the yellow and it did not work as well. After changing to the pink and down sized to the next size down we finally started catching instead of jigging.
