Winter is settling in nicely, this weekend had some mild weather in the 20's during the day and teens at nite. However, here comes the cold again. Last nite the temperatures got down in minus teens, with today's high predicted to only be 5 degrees. This cold is helping fix the slushy conditions we got with the big snow last week.

Those anglers going out this weekend reported mixed results. Walleyes were biting sporaticly, the best bite was after dark. Sucker minnows were working best.
Northerns were being caught on larger shiners.
There were not many positive reports on panfish, this could be because most of the anglers heading out were targeting walleye. The largest walleyes we have heard caught this weekend were 24, 25, and 27 inches by one of GUIDES CHOICE ICE FISHING GUIDES. I'm happy to report all were returned to the lake. The fish were caught in 3 to 7 feet of water. Most were taken on tip ups, with only a few reports of catching fish jigging.

If you are planning a trip up north and are looking for an ice fishing guide, we have some of the BEST here at Guides Choice Pro Shop.

Come on up ice fishing, the north is beautiful in winter.

Good luck fishing,
