Today, jess and I got out ice fishing for about an hour and a half on a small area lake, we just jigged for bluegill, got about 10 or so and kept 5 of them, no to bad for the first time out. heading back out tomorrow.
Good luck and post any reports that you might have.

Sounds like a good first trip! I made it out today for a few hours. Ended up with 14 perch, probably could have kept a few more but that was enough. Most I kept were around 8 1/2 - 9 1/2 inches. Pretty nice, but no big jumbos.
I only caught them for around a half hour or so. They were nailing Jigging Raps, Spoons, and Little Atom panfish jigs - all tipped with plastic. It didn't matter what was down there - they were eating it! Ususally didn't even have to jig. Let the bait hit bottom, close the bail, and set the hook - just crazy while it lasted.
Then just like that, they shut off and were few and far between. Bite lasted from probably 2:00 - 2:30 or so. 14 feet of water.
