Hey Herbie, got a quick question for you about getting a new depthfinder. We are looking to upgrade our current unit, want something similar to what Danny or Rob was using this year. Can you recommend a good unit that will do a good job of showing fish and structure, thanks.

phil,
good to hear from ya,
we've been using lowrance, hear some guys like the hummingbirds and the side imaaging features then some that went to them after being used to lowrance that had a hard time getting used to them,so it's personal preference and what you are used to but we've always liked what we've been using mainly 7-10 screens.
lowrance hds (high def system)
hds 10
hds 8
hds 7
hds 5
the number corresponds with the size of the screen,
all have gps with internal ant.
the smaller the screen/units obviously are less in price but pay extra and get the biggest screen you can afford,it makes a huge diff.
if you can find any of the last years x series x27, x-38 you can probably get a heck of a deal and they were awesome units ,gps with external ant.
try googling reed's sporting goods, they are one of the biggest locator dealers in the country, have very quick service and tax free when mailed. ask for kevin or jeff ,tell them i sent you.
