I saw in last week's DNR fishing report that fish were hitting stickbaits by the "Fingers" near Little Bay de Noc. I've been watching this forum for a couple of years and have never seen that location mentioned. Could someone fill me in? I'll be up next week for a few days, probably fishing either out of Cedar River or in Menominee. Any hints on how things are going in the Cedar area would be appreciated. Maybe Fin could give me a couple of tips, if he's not to busy at school.

Thanks, Rich

There are several "trenches" that run parallel to each other (North-East to South-West,) West of the Ford River Can. I believe that's the area known as "The Fingers."

I thought they might have been talking about the reefs, but usually they're mentioned by name, ie. center or middle reef, etc. I had the feeling that they were a bit south of the bay maybe even out by Minneapolis Shoal. I'll check my Hot Spots map and see if it's on there.

The Fishing Hot Spots map for Little Bay doesn't go quite far enough south to show them that well. Mapping Specialists map of Little Bay de Noc goes much further south, and shows them much better.

The fingers are south of the ford river area. If you look on a map just look for things that you would call fingers and it will be them.

Good luck

We've been doing pretty darn good the last week or so using the same techniques as usual with around 100 fish boated the last 5 trips out. We've been averaging about 10 - 15 hits an hour while trolling at night. 800 reef runners in Purple Barely Naked, Purple Prism, Fin's Day Old Muffin, and Tuitti Fruity have been the best. Haven't got my fingers on the new Naked Day Old Muffin yet but it should probably be a winner too! Different reefs have been hot or cold on different nights and staying mobile has been crucial to putting fish in the boat. Here is a pic of a quick 2 hour (5 man) limit boated the other night!

Free flowing information is what it's all about.
Jim: Thanks for the info. I hope I can put it to good use. I see one thing that's been going well is the weather. I think once the weather settles down and stays nice for a few days, fishing picks up and can get awesome. From the looks of that mess of fish, it has. The forecast looks good all the way thru next week. I'll be up on Monday, staying 'til Friday. I like to fish out of Cedar because it's so close to where I'm staying and easy to get in and out. I have reef runners, maybe not in the exact colors, but close. We'll see what we can do and I'll let you know. Maybe I'll see you out there. I run a 17' Sea Nymph, blue and white.

Thanks again, Rich

If I'd known you were looking Jim, I'd have saved some of those Fin's Day Old Bare Naked for you, ( Doofighter nabbed the last one this afternoon!) We also have several other new colors available.

From left to right- Paralyzer, Brown Perch BN, Pink Panties BN, Skinned Squirrel BN, Cranberry Crusher BN, and Fin's Day Old Muffin BN.
