View Full Version : Nets on Lake Wausau this week

A FYI if you plan on fishing Lake Wausau this week:

Local DNR fisheries technician Garrett Drach will be putting 8 nets in Lake Wausau, targeting channel catfish, for the entire week. The nets will be marked with two black and white buoys. Please don't drive or cast between the buoys as you will snag the nets.

Went out this morning with our local DNR Fisheries Technician, Garrett Drach, to check the nets. It was certainly interesting , even if we did not find as many catfish as anticipated. In speaking with Garrett, the largest channel cat they've turned up so far in the survey has been 31" - nice fish. It will be interesting to see how it finishes up.
