Revo Toro reels

I've been associated with Garcia reels for many years yet normally wouldn't post an unsolicited thread like this except for some reason I'm getting calls and today an e-mail requesting info on them.What follows is my personal opinion on them.
A couple years ago I was asked for input on 'protos' and then last year was sent 4 or 5 to try out.Since then I've used them hard-one could say I've really tried to break them or find fault with them.Norm Wild used one awhile(Norm is hard on gear-just ask Suzuki :))and loved it.My wife used/uses one and loves it and Frank uses one and I believe loves it.Tough,reliable,smooth as silk,quiet,comfortable to use and efficient as heck.Never had a single problem and they've never been broken down nor even properly maintained except for a rare 'oiling' of exterior parts.Absolutely positively no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them wholeheartedly.Not sure why the sudden interest but there's my opinion of them.No doubt next year all my reels from Garcia will be them-including a couple of the new 'Winch' models recently introduced for sale.

Tim, while Frank may not impress you with his tool selection, he does take particular care with anything related to fishing.

Dick, I'm guessing the smaller profile of the R T reels helps with your grip and overall comfort? I saw that reel and thought someone invented it just for you.

I'm still on the prowl for the good old Swedish 7000's. I like those primitive old clunks for some reason.

Dick and I are both using the "60" series. Although he's using the girly 5:1, where I am using the manly 6:1. They are shortly releasing a 4:1 version, nicknames the Winch, which allegedly puts double 10s in their place. Dick has one on order, so I guess we will see shortly.

We are planning a trip to Spirit Lake sometime in September for a fishing and antiquing holiday. I will look at them in the display at FFO. Thanks, now I will have to sell my Curado's and purchase a replacement model. Just in time for the trolling holiday in October.
