Friday greeted my 3 clients and I with a light WSW breeze that eventually picked up and so did the action. Starting out working bogs and mid lake humps, we found but 1 walleye on a hump and it got off before it reached the net. As the winds increased some, we moved into areas containing good coontail patches and pretty much spent the rest of the day working these spots. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with 1/2 crawler or leeches, and also beetle spins, we managed to pull 9 eyes, 6 keepers, along with several small pike and a few nice smallies out of the weeds. Also had lots of hit and misses during the day. Ton's of tiny perch tucked away in these patches of coontail and also clouds of them all over the flowage, just one of a few reasons the fishing action is slow and will remain that way till this forage base is slimmed down some. Did I mention COLD FRONT after COLD FRONT is another reason. Water temps are hanging right around 67 degrees, a good 10 degrees cooler than a year ago.

Back out today if the weather permits, will keep you posted
