Last week mother nature brought almost 2" of rain, record low high air temps and 4 days of winds from the north- north west at 15- 25mph....making the the lake unfishable. Finaly got on the pond Sat and Sunday and found conditions had change dramaticly.
LAKE CONDITIONS:Water surface temps had fallen almost 10 degrees to 64-66 degrees, Water color: Very stained from the high winds churning the lake bottom and green from algea bloom, Visibility 1-2 feet at best. Lake bugs: hatch of very small nat size bugs swarming throughout the lake area.

Fished 11 hours Sunday with John L and Brent R both from Joliet, Il. Didnt catch first fish until about 1pm. Shallow water rock reef fish had completely moved off the rocks. What I think happened...the high winds and heavy wave action of earlier in the week had chased the fish off the shallow rocks. Fishing was very tough! As the day progressed the clearity of the water column was improving and we started catching small fish returning to the rocks. All in all we caught and released about 10 fish for the day. Look for the bite to improve after a couple days of stable weather.
