Well, we certainly excaped the heat of Central Minnesota. We had to wash our one pair of long pants and single sweatshirt occassionally so that Brian would let us in the fish cleaning building.

It rained a bit as well. Nothing too serious. We fished everyday. The wind blew here and there. A good walleye chop in certain areas. Enough to force you to explore new locations in the areas where the wind had a chance to blow for a bit, eh!

A good year for fishing. 36", 32", 27" Pike and we weren't even fishing for them. All on light walleye tackle and line. Spinners, trolling on the bottom.

We broke a few lines on big fish. And we lost one pole - and not to a snag.

The big walleyes: 26",25",25", 23", 23", 23", 22" - several of these plus numerous 21" & 20". They were so numerous we stopped keeping track of the sizes.

We caught fish in depths from 12' to 25' depending on the wind and the day of the week. We didn't see any particular pattern.

We also caught fish all over the lake from the Falls, to Wolf Island, to Gore Bay, to Camp Bay, to numerous locations around Splitrock, to Rabbit Point. It didn't seem to make any difference where we fished. Can't say they were jumpint in the boat but fishing was steady and we were never skunked.

The Jumbo Perch were really hitting and were excellent quality.
