What a strange year. Just when it looks like the fish are settling in to a good summer pattern we get whacked with a major cold front. Not the usual one day and gone front but three days of 50 degree weather. Needless to say the good bite that we were experiencing with the warm weather has slowed way down. Many of the fish that had been up shallow have moved out and become tough to locate. I have noticed many fish suspended out in the middle of the lakes, basicly in limbo, waiting for the weather to starighten out so that they can resume their summer feeding patterns. The good news is that the weather is supposed to start settling down by Thursday. So until then be patient out on the water. You can still catch fish under these conditions, just slow down a little and don't expect to find big numbers of fish in any one spot as the cold snap has scattered them. Hopefully by the weekend we will get back to nice catches like the ones shown below, that we were experiencing with the recent warm weather.
