Last night guided out on lost land. I think we had 6 follows, maybe 5 can't remember. one on a single willowleaf Rabid Squirrel Spinnerbait, and the rest on Cowgirls in the weeds. Almost all of the fish came during the minor fish feeding time, otherwise nothing. only one of the fish opened its mouth at the bait and went around a couple of time on the figure 8 and that was the biggest one, about a 46 or 47 incher, all the others were mid 30's to low 40's.
today,
was up on the St. Louis River, had great action, saw I think it was 7 fish, and got one upper 30 inch fish in the boat. that fish was caught on a walk the dog suface bait. all the other fish were on that same bait or a cowgirl and were all in the mid 30 to low 40 inch range again, I did have something pretty good size blow up on the same topwater bait, and maybe I set the hook a little early and pulled the bait away from the fish.....ok maybe I did that twice today.
do as I say not as I do, wait until the fish grabs the bait to set the hook!!!
good luck, and post any reports that you might have.
