    Default Is the Hideaway open?

We stopped by a couple times in late May and could not tell if the bar/restaurant was open. It was locked both times.

Yes, The Hideaway is open. Stopped down there last Friday night. Although they are not currently serving fish fries, it was good to see Jeff behind the bar again!

Coming up in a few weeks and wondering if the Hideaway is open/serving food?

Also, aside from Gateway and maybe Hideaway, are there any other dining options accessible by pontoon boat?

Those would be your only "dining" options that can be reached by pontoon boat. You can also get a frozen bar pizza at Donners Bay or Sunken Horse Saloon.

Thanks Scott - we'll be staying in your cabins, so any other dining recommendations within a reasonable driving distance are much appreciated - going to try and support the local businesses as much as possible while we're there!

JVB: We are looking forward to your stay with us. The Midway Bar on Hwy F toward Butternut is the closest. Shane and Molly will treat you well. They have a menu from burgers and authentic Chicago Italian Beef Sandwiches, to great Saturday/Sunday night filets, along with the traditional Friday night Fish Fry.

Dear Lodge on Hwy FF toward Mercer has great homemade pizza prepared by Jim. Their ever famous all you can eat Tuesday Pizza night is always a hit with families.

There are also many other great eating establishments in and near Mercer that I will allow the other posters to review.

Please give me a call or email with any other questions you may have about the area.
