2013 walleye fishing outlook for the Missouri river lakes in South Dakota
This is going to be a great year! The early walleye fishing on Lake Francis Case is going to be the best in years. lots of fish over 20 inches were taken in the test nets last fall with above average numbers of eaters 15 to 17inch available also. Lake Sharpe also is looking great with lots of keepers and bonus smallmouth back in great numbers. If you have ever been on Lake Sharpe in late may and June when both the walleyes and Smallmouth are on the bite you know this is truly the fastest fishing you can find anywhere in the US and Canada. As for Lake Oahe near Pierre SD it looks like another good year with lots more eaters available along with the best chance for a trophy anywhere on the river. All in all an above average year for the entire river system in South Dakota. If you are looking for a fishing trip of a life time the time is now.
