    Default Dead Deer at Kinkaid

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention. There seems to be a breakout of that Blue Tongue Disease with the deer herd around Kinkaid. In the last two days on the water, I have found two dead deer including an eight pointer that is about 130 inches.

Scott Donovan has also found three dead deer in the last week. He called the wildlife biologist and was told that lots of calls had been coming in on dead deer. I guess some small ponds around there had multiple dead deer in them.

This disease causes them to go to the water from a high fever and dehydration. They aren't right on the shore, but several feet out into the water normally.

Keep your eyes out for them. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad, but makes me nervous to eat venison from around there.

Not good...This isn't an issue up in WI as far as I know. Is it something that's more prevalent in the southern portions of whitetail country? I hope this doesn't become to prevalent down here and hope everyone has a safe and successful deer season this year.
