Ice out

So, is this weather giving anybody a serious case of cabin fever ? Any views on ice out ?

If this warm trend stays with us, I'm thinking March 31.

Here in southern Minnesota the ice went out middle of this past week. Went out crappie fishing Saturday and got into a bunch of nice fish. Surface temps were 45 degrees. Was still some ice in one bay and a few chunks floating around.

Ice is going out really fast here. Some areas are ice free like river inlets and north shores. Most of the West Fork of the Chip is open. Wont be long now!

I'm fishing Kinkaid in Illinois this weekend and believe it or not I am being told we have water temps in the 60's in the main lake and low 70's in the shallow flats already. Way ahead of normal. Our weather is nuts the last two weeks. Low 80's for highs and warm nights.

Ty, I tried to call you this weekend to see about setting up a trip this fall but I'll try again this evening. We are planning a week at Treeland Resort and I'd like to book a day with you while we are up there.
