    Default Ice report

Ice is still holding on great on most area lakes, the ones that are starting to get bad are Long, Elk, and Soo where there is a lot of current flowing under the ice. I walked out a lake yesterday and there was still 16" of solid crystal clear ice. And the shoreline was still solid as well. The shorelines on Long, Elk, and Soo are starting to break down a little from the rising water. The channel is really getting cut into Elk, If there wasn't a big snowbank there you could launch your boat!!!

Thanks for the info. Watching to see if it holds up for the weekend.

I take it the fishing was nothing to brag about?

I caught around 30 Crappie but only kept 8, I was pretty picky and threw back anything under around 11".

I guess we'll see what's left for access after Friday in the 70's...
