2011 West Branch Hawg Hunt Hoedown
The 4th annual West Branch Hawg Hunt Hoedown is scheduled for Saturday November 12th from 7am to 4pm.
This is not a tournament or a club function.
There is no entry fee and it's is open to everyone (beginners or pros)
It is a mutual gathering of muskie fishermen celebrating another year of muskie fishing in Ohio and is held no matter what weather conditions are dealt to us.
Event hours are 7am to 4pm
Potluck dinner will begin sometime around 5pm.
We do ask if you are attending please bring a covered dish to contribute to our feast (last years dinner was great ! )
Pre Hoedown ceremonies and camping will be Friday night (Nov 11th ). We usually have a campfire, food, drink, fish tales and good company. So stop out and camp ! ( campground central to be announced )
On water communication will be on Marine band 71.
We will have a optional Big Fish pool for $5
You must submit your $5 to the assigned pool director for eligibility. If you catch a fish before then, It doesn't count.
A digital camera pic is required for a prize. In the event of a tie, the fish caught first wins. Prize will be awarded to the LONGEST fish caught
We ask everyone please practice good conduct and sportsmanship during this event.

This event is a blast if anyone is interested. I have fished it the last couple of years and met Guy and several others that put this together. Really good group of guys from Akron/Canton/Cleveland. If any Central Ohio guys want to come up, I will help with some West Branch info. I really like the lake a lot. Even if the muskies don't cooperate this is a really good time (and always good food!)

Potluck dinner will begin sometime around 5pm. This will be held at the campsite in the front of the Camping area ( probably site #1 and 2 ) There is a huge parking lot across from these sites with plenty of boat and vehicle parking. (by the park check in).
Most of us will be using the Campground ramp in Jay Lake for launching. You can also use Rock Springs or East Ramp to avoid traffic.
We do ask if you are attending please bring a covered dish to contribute to our feast (last years dinner was great ! ) You may want to bring your own folding chair too..

We will also be giving away free doorprize tickets at the Dinner.
Prizes are donations from Muskie Train, Big Game, B&M Baits, Custom X, Jimmy Bucktail and Grandma Lures. There are some fine lures up for grabs.
We will also be having a brown bag lure swap. If you wish to participate, bring a used lure. It will be put in a brown bag. All the bags will be mixed up. The participants get to draw a bag.
There will also be high quality 2011 Hoe Down stickers for sale. Perfect for Boat, Car, Tackle Box etc....
