Wow, I have been a total slacker this summer so far with fishing reports, and I apologize for that!!
Musky fishing is going ok, we have been moving a lot more fish lately, the action has been sporadic throughout the day. All of our fish have been on main lake weed edges and on a variety of baits including MDR Choppers, cowgirls, spinnerbaits, one eyed willie's, and 7" slammer minnow baits. we got one nice one a few days ago a 45 incher on a MDR Chopper.
Trolled for walleye the other morning on LCO too, and we did ok, got two walleye about 22 and 24 inches, and two pike one about 18 and the other about 27 inches, all trolling open water one walleye on a Reef Runner deep ripstick running about 20 feet down, the other 3 fish were caught on a floating rapala on a half core of lead core.
Jess and I went up to lake superior yesterday and did some lake trout fishing for a couple of hours too, got three in the boat and lost another one. got two on riggers running tight to the bottom on a dodger and spin-n-glo, and another on a cowbell rig with a spin-n-glo, and I lost one on a spoon running on a rigger about 100 feet down.
Water temps are in the low 70's.
Good luck,
Tanner Wildes
