Just got back from a week of fishing in mercer----Found the fish very active on morning and evening bites. Crappie were just off the spawning areas in weed beds 4-7 ft deep. Still full of spawn so we were carefull not to take too many. Walleye were best on the evening bite say 6-8 pm. Got all of ours around new weed growth--green cabage if you can find it. Jig and minnow was the ticket although after the colder nights on tue-thurs--the slip bobber bite was on. Nice walleye all in the 17-23 inch range. Tons of Musky / Pike action in the shallows during the day. Midday with the sun out was the best as the shallows warmed up and the fish moved in--we were actually bass fishing but couldn't keep the pike and skis away--caught many up to 42" and also got some nice smallies and a few largemouth. Super week of fishing and I would bet with the nicer weather coming it will get even better.
