The lake froze over completely Wed., day before Thanksgiving. Today ventured out around 200 ft., and mostly it only took one pound with the spud bar to break thru. Found 2-2 1/2" ice. Now hopefully it will get a chance to thicken up before we get any insulating snow cover, so as not to repeat last season. Praying for SubZero!!

Thanks for the report Dave. Warmer temps the last two days and rain today put a hurt on some of the ice I saw in the southern part of the county. Not really opened up but some of the stuff that just had a light glaze of ice was breaking up a bit.

    Hi Dave,

MuskyMatt and I are thinking about coming up, do you have an update on the ice thickness?

As measured yesterday(Sat.) found a consistant 3" - 3 1/2". However it has been snowing non-stop fluff on & off since last night and we have accumulated 4" of insulation on top. Hopefully the forecasted wind will pack it down so it will allow the cold to penetrate and give us a thicker base ice.

Hopefully the wind blows it off the ice first!!!
