    Default Monona Info 11/10/10

In the "for what it's worth" department, I was out searching for "treasures" on Monona Wed. morning between Schluter Beach and Wyldhaven. Dropped the camera down in three different deep water weed beds (between 30 & 40'), and all three were the same, full of little bluegills, perch and crappies. Water clarity was terrible so it's impossible to see the whole picture, but the fish were in and around the weedbeds. Saw a couple good sized smallies on one weedbed, but again, you can only see a very short ways. The main significance to this is, where there's fish this size, there'll also be prediators hanging around. I marked some larger fish in the immediate area, as well as schools of smaller fish. So if you've got some time to probably waste it might be worthwhile to keep an eye on your locator and do some vertical jigging (or whatever trips your trigger). Rick
