lure suggest

went out fishing today on river edge parkway back of VFW there is rocks rapids and result catch only 4 smallies with high rate of snagged, i ever use texas rig with weight and w/o weight still get snagged,
what is best lures for that area and when will be very good place to fish for slalmouth bass of year,
my first time go there today and has good day with 4 smallies, hope to head back sometime again and head from there and go north to where rock rapids start head downstream. need lures sugguest...
