Is it normal for musky rods to creek when pressure is put on them whiling reeling in lures?

Yeah kinda. I can feel something in it that feels like it is creeking whenever I am reeling in a lure and put pressure on it.

I would check the reel seat, if it is a little loose or has some dirt under it that could make noise. The fibers in the rod should be totally bonded together with no slipping between them. If they are creaking the bond had been compromised and that would really reduce the strength. Also, that creaking would be like anything else, when things slide over each other they wear and wear between rod fibers is not good.
Could also be a line guide flexing or sliding under a loose winding which could be possible fixed with a little 2 ton epoxy dripped under it carefully.
    Hope this helps, Dean

It could possibly be the blank bending slightly inside the cork, I wouldn't think that would be enough pressure though.
