    Default mayflies

Just wondering if the mayfly hatch has occurred on Leech or if it's coming soon. Does the fishing usually slow down/stop when this occurs on Leech.

    Thanks

I've not been to Leech before this past week and can tell you that the mayfly hatch has occurred. There were two distinct hatches that occurred this week. On Tuesday night something other than mayflies hatched. My son guessed that they were caddis flies. There were literally thousands in our boat and on us after dark. On Wednesday the mayflies came. Again, thousands in our boat after dark. Thursday there were mayflies again but not in as high of numbers. Can't tell you if they help or hurt. Thursday was our best day and night that week but I think it was because there was some chop that was absent previously in the week.

Lotsa 1 inch mayflies on the east side Sunday. Resort owner says they're on the downhill side of the madness- ought to be on the way out by 4th July weekend.
