Ice fishing pointers

Hi,

I'd like to get couple of pointers as to what works best on Lac Vieux Desert mid-winter. We'll be staying at the Winddrift resort on the west shore Michigan side. First time ice fishing this lake. Lures, bait, location if possible. Fishing for walleye and northerns primarily though wouldn't pass up on some good pan fish action.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Good advice, Dave is always willing to help guests. We both have shacks out there.

Otherwise... can't go wrong with small shiners under a tip-up around the weed clumps in the 8ft range. You'll get pike and walleyes. Big perch have also been taking them, nice bonus.

Crappies... still get the nicest ones after dark.

Hunt me up when you're there, I should be around the shack.
