lunker Report
While the ice continues to improve in the Eagle River area, there is snow
cover on the ice which hinders travel and can mask dangerous conditions.
High caution is advised.
The northern bite in the Eagle River area continues to be good to excellent
with a mixed bag of sizes being caught. Fish 15 feet of water or less in
and around the weeds. Use a large shiner under a tip-up or fish with a
jigging spoon.
Perch are hitting strongly in the weeds in the Eagle River area. Fish 15
feet of water or less. Use a tear drop jig with a waxie. The perch are
running a bit small, but anglers are still getting some decent fish for the
frying pan, and the action can be furious at times.
Walleye are putting on a good bite in the Eagle River area. Sizes are mixed.
Fish 25 feet of water or less along break edges that are adjacent to weeds.
Use a medium shiner or a walleye sucker under a tip-up.
