Deer Hunting

Went out deer hunting Saturday afternoon with Mike McD to try and get some sloppy seconds on whatever deer were left in the woods. Mike and his buddies were doing some drives and set me up in a prime spot as a shooter. About 1-1/2hrs into the push a bachelor group trotted up the other side of the draw I was overlooking (out of range ) and into a small thicket. Luckily one of the bucks worked his way thru the thick stuff right towards me. As soon as he popped out I dropped him w/ the muzzle loader. The deer was slightly quartering towards me so I shot him right in the base of the neck near the front of his shoulder - no tracking necessary. The deer had eight points and couple of small sticker points.

Nice deer George. All these deer pic showing up kinda makes me wish I had of went hunting in the gun season, or spent more time in my tree stand this fall
