Boreal Bay - Fishing Report - 6/30
Our Muskie Opener week was grand with no rained out days and lots of Muskies caught during the opening week.
This week Crow Lake will be starting to reach 70 degree water temps and Lake of the Woods will be seeing some 80 degree waters, so summer fishing patterns will be taking place soon.
Our Mayfly hatch will be coming on strong, see more and more every few days.
Lake Trout are getting established in the early summer holes now. Jigging and trolling groups catching some - no one catching bunches and mostly just the good eating sized fish 3-6 pounds.
Muskie opener week had almost every Muskie Angler very happy. No one serious about Muskies since the opener week or this week. Jean is starting to put Muskie pictures up on Facebook - please send in more. We do will have a good Muskie story, but will wait until we have the pictures ready post.
Bass fishing on Jessie & Whitefish Bay has been good. I went in to Jessie with a friend and we caught Bass on everything except a bass spinner bait... inline spinners, top water, soft plastic and crank baits all worked. Best Bass of the week was 4.5 pounds from Whitefish Bay.
Northern Pike fishing on Whitefish Bay was very good - casting inline spinners and spoons on Friday resulted in 120+ Northern Pike caught with 5 being 34" or better.
With the lakes warming, swimming is becoming very popular with guests
