    Default Big Chip report 9-11-2011

    Hi everyone,

Another cloudless bright sunny day today. Air temps in the 80's again, but this time we had wind. A moderate Soyth West wind blew for most of the day which made the sun and heat bearable. it also seemed to pick up the fishing. I wound up with only three Walleyes, but over a dozen Crappie, over a dozen Perch, a couple dozen Bluegills, and four Bass. I kept eight Perch and released everything else.

I caught about half of the fish on the slip bobber baited with a piece of crawler, and the other half jigging with a minnow. The Walleyes all came jigging with minnows. Of interest, I caught Crappies on the slip bobber with crawlers. The biggest a respectable 12". I decided to keep Perch for a fish fry with eight of the perch decent. The biggest was measured at 11". The biggest Walleye was 17". The others were around 12". The Bass were all small but fun to catch. I released all but enough Perch for a decent fish fry.

The pattern remains the same-deep wood. I never tried the weeds because the action was good out deep. the water temps were 73, the same as yesterday. The hot sunny weather stuck around for three days in a row, and each day saw better action. The more the weather remains consistent, the better the fishing. Of course, I like having a breeze kick up some waves. According to the weather man we are in for a drastic weather change. High today in the upper 80's and tommorow the high's in the mid 60's. supposed to stay cold for awhile so if your coming up, bring warm clothes.

When I fish alone, I always use my system. It may sound corny, but I do have a system of four methods that I use to methodically Locate and consistently put Walleyes in the boat. I have a plan of attack, and I work my plan. In my book "The Walleyemaxx System" I thoroughly explain every detail. It's fun, easy, and very enjoyable to be able to consistently Catch Walleyes in any circumstances. When I guide, it is easier to use just a few aspects of the system. But I teach as we fish. If you are in need of a guide for the beautifull fall season, shoot me an email. We can work up a great trip.
