The "slop" around that area is certainly a good starting point for catching largemouth bass on top, especially from shore. I would recommend using a heavier fluorocarbon leader to aid in preventing bite-offs from pike and the occasional musky, as they seem to really target slop frogs too.

i never use heavier fluorocarbon leader cause sink i been use power pro 50 lb test on froggin with double polmar knot on my 7'11" heavy flippin rod but if happen pike or muskie hit my frog and cut off then i'll have my lesson for a leader.. do any leader make a float for frog ? if u know any name of brand fluorocarbon leader and what heavy leader ?

most time i use spro and snagproof froggin in 1/2 oz
