Friday's trip was called off due to bad weather, but Saturday's and Sunday's went as planned and the action was pretty good despite a very huge mayfly hatch. The walleye action on both days pretty much came from shallow water (4 to 6 ft.) with lots of submerged timber along with patchy coontail. On both days, my clients and I worked these areas with Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either fatheads, half crawler, or 3" Berkley Gulp Alive with equal results. Saturday's total was 7 very nice sized eyes kept along with 4 crappie, crappie were caught on the 3" Gulp in 3 feet of water. Sunday's total was 9 eyes, 7 of which were pretty hefty ones. Just a note on the big mayfly hatch, there were areas out in the big water where they were so thick that you swear you could walk on top of them, one of the largest hatches that I have seen in years. Special note, the gills and crappie are tight to shore and are spawning, easy to pick up a good fish fry for anyone who is interested.

Back out today, will keep you posted.
