Thread: Mayfly bite

    Default Mayfly bite

Mayflies are hatching in full force right now on most lakes. Fishing is great right now for walleye and bass as is typical early in the hatch. Many times the best fishing will only last for a couple of days. Big walleyes are hitting crank baits right now in the evening. Bass action has also been good all day on a number of different presentations.
Jointed cranks which dive from 3-8 feet have been exceptional for me this year. Rapala and Storm baits have been producing with color dependent on the water clarity and time of day. Standard rules of thumb apply. Good luck and get ready for fish to enter summer patterns very soon.
