    Default water levels

    i heard the water levels have risen lately and the dams are rolling. any input would be awsome. thanks

    The gates were open and water levels up because of the heavy rains in northern Wisconsin during the week. I would expect they have the gates closed by now. If anyone knows if the gates are still open please post.

    I suspect that the gates are closed--the water is below the action stage. If the power company lease on Petenwell is the same as on Castle Rock lake, then they have to manage the lake to within a one foot variation during the summer. The Action Stage on Petenwell is 924', that is where they need to take action by increasing the water flow thru the dam by opening gates. Here is a link to real time water levels at Petenwell. Castle Rock has the same, just hit the Downstream Gage button to see it.
