Default Walleyes: the first two weeks

Despite the miserable spring weather, walleyes have been pretty cooperative in 2009. Many groups have said it's the best fishing they have ever had in terms of size. Numbers may be down a bit from last year, but many of last year's groups said last year was the best fishing EVER so that is hard to keep up with.

The biggest walleye of the season so far is Mark P's 31 incher that was released over Memorial Weekend. What a great way to start the season!! Already, multiple 29 and 28 inch walleyes have been caught and released as well as more than we can count in the 25-27 inch class.

The majority of the reports have been that walleyes are hanging out in 19-20 feet of water, but a guide stopped by to mention he caught walleyes in 32-40 feet of water steady for a couple of days this week. That's very unusual for this part of the lake, but you can't argue with success so keep it in mind if you are out on the water.

I'll post some photos soon, but in the meantime, you can visit our websites for more pictures of this year and some of the action from previous years.

Stay tuned for frequent fishing reports throughout the season and feel free to post your own findings from your time on the water around Morson.

Default Big CPR Walleyes on LOTW!

I'm still working out some formatting issues with respect to how I want to display photos on the new website, but I have posted a few of the biggest walleyes that were landed during the first 9 days of the walleye season.

All fish were caught, photographed and released! Congrats to each of the anglers on their personal best walleyes.

From left: 31, 29, and 29 inch walleyes.
