Thread: Memorial Day Weekend

  1. Default Memorial Day Weekend

Very good fishing on the bay of Green Bay for both Bass and Walleye. We fished bass on Sunday morning and caught over 50 fish, most were smaller, but we had 10 or 12 of those fish over 3 pound with 4 over 4!!! Action was best in shallow water with Sand and gravel mix.. The water was dirty but warm and the fish hit tubes and grubs the best! As for the walleye it has been incredibly good! Both crankbaits and crawler harnesses.... worked equally well depending on the depth and wind... Some fish in the 26 to 30 inch range each day, but most of the fish are 2 to 5 pounds. We are lucky to have such outstanding fishing in Green Bay..

Sounds like terrific action. Anyone scouting for salmon up there yet? They started in the past week off Algoma and Kewaunee, if you can call 1-2 fish per boat a start! But, one was a 21-pounder (photo at www.captainks.net). Now that turkey hunting and stream steelheading is finally over, I better get the boat ready! It was a great spring for turkeys and trout in Door and Kewaunee counties.
