    Default Sturgeon Pictures from Saturday...

I had a great time on the water with some buddies over the weekend. We caught 14 sturgeon with the biggest being a 61 incher. It was a cold April day that even included some snow flurries. We caught almost all of our fish from 8am-2pm.

About 20 minutes of fishing a boat pulled directly in front of us looking to anchor. They were within about 2 feet of cutting my anchor line with their prop. I expressed my concern, in a nice way, to the driver of the boat and theh guy in the front told me to "quit my bitching." I looked up and saw a mammoth of a man with a smile on his face. It was Jerry Sondag. They anchored next to us and caught some nice fish.

We had some pretty hilarious equipment failure too. I set the hook on the 61 incher and all of the guides popped off as Brett Waldera was driving by. I was fighting a 50-60lb fish with my reel and the rod tip! It was nuts but somehow we managed to get the fish in the net. Adam Spah was fighting a fish and the reel fell off. I later let Adam attempt to net a fish for me that was in the mid 40's and he performed a netjob like I have never seen and the fish came off.

I will be going back up the next two weekends so visit back to see some more pics.

    Kevin,

Nice pics, sounds like a blast. Get those early season bloopers out of the way before musky season! I know a bunch of guys that were up there this past weekend as well and it sounded like they struggled more than your group. They caught some fish. But they said it was a bit tougher this year with the current water conditions. One guy in their group did get a beast of a 65" x 27" on Sunday!

Going back up in about 13 hours. We plan to fish all day tomorrow. Hopefully we put some fish in the boat.
