Only Mother Nature can answer the ice question. We need some warm weather. The normal ice out date is near the 24th of April. The walleyes are stagging in shallow water after spawning. On the opener we usually encounter male fish still in the area. The females are usually gone and re-couping after the spawn. Of course all depends on the weather. Pine Point is a popular starting area. The Hardwoods in Sucker Bay are another good opener spot. Check out areas that have a lot of boats, they are usually on fish.
