Ice conditions remain good on most area lakes. Caution should be used though as ice is not uniform from spot to spot or lake to lake. Ice remains anywhere from 8 inches to 2 feet. With the rain the last few days landings are taking the biggest hit. Bluegills have been active in the weeds 15 feet of water or less. Use a waxie or spike on a small jig, green or pink. Crappies have been suspending 2-6 feet off the bottom around 30 feet of water. use your electronics and a Crappie minnow under a slip bobber to catch these shy biters. Perch remain active in two main areas 15 feet of water or less in and around weeds and main lake mud flats in the 20-30 foot range. Use a variety of live and artificial baits to ice these fish, the pattern has been changing daily. Good luck to all.
