    Default Ice Out '09

Has the ice started to do anything as of yet Frank? Warmer weather starting to break things down yet?

My official prediction of ice out is April 27th.
    Thanks,

Before I jump in, I want to mention that when I went by Mergen's Point this evening, there was a goose swimming 150 feet off the point.

Depends on how long the food holds out here.

Food still holding out?Hope you aren't getting what we are.Sounds like we could get a modest 8-16 more inches today with a summerlike breeze around 45 mph.
Will the weight of this snow open the lake sooner?
Did you shoot Doug J's goose yet?

Nothing yet, although the forecast is for 100% chance of snow. And a fair amount as well. Radar shows it right below us.

Looking towards the green buoy I see both geese and waves. Not exactly sure which one is Doug's.

THink the goose on the right is Doug's. Don't shoot that one, but the other.....

Guess we are in the same boat as DP....predicting 15-20 for our area and the winds are howling. Don't know if they are gusty as around Dick's, but hard enough to make it snow sideways!! :P

    Your right,
You have it made great wife, dog, customers, & you have the woods as a backyard & I have been told I have a very fun life and I would give it up in a second to have what you have. Alright except I have a great wife and dog but my back yard sucks compared to your's and now we need to find another fishing partner for the fall.
You have it so easy and we love you guys (not gay love) but good love!!!!
And we know you work your ass off to keep us happy!! (hot tub in the fall though would be good).

    Darren,
As soon as the economy turns, open a shop up there.Dealing with all the new houses on Brush,Flag and Oak would keep you busy-and if not, there's always fishing.I have an extra dog,put Frank in the back tending rods and you're all set.

    Darren,

I have to warn you that this area has been attracting an unsavory element in the new people moving to the islands. Don't know if it's the economy, falling real estate values, or just the general degradation of the American system. But I would think twice about moving here. It's getting ugly.

You just don't know your neighbors anymore!!!!
