They have one gate slightly open at Nekoosa. River is up about two feet. Water temp today was 35.2. Not much debris to deal with, a little grass and weeds. It was 16 when I launched this morning. Bite was a little slow,
5 "shorties", one in the slot and three keepers. Supposed to be in the fifties Saturday chance of rain.

Default Good to see some open water reports

    Hey Jerry,
Good to see you are getting out on the open water. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to get up to the Madison show to see Kay and you. I was wondering when you think the lake is going to open up this year? Is there still quite a bit of ice, or has the warmer weather melted quite a bit? I have to see if I can get some time a get a guided trip in on the river with you. I hope you still have some openings. The trip on the lake was great, now I need to learn all the good spots on the river. Let me know what you think.

    Default Open Water

It should not be long before the lakes are open. We are supposed to get heavy rains this week. A friend of mine talked with two guys comming off Petenwell yesterday with an air boat and they told him there was only 8 inches of ice in the middle of the lake.

    Keep a tight lie!!!
