We got a fish last year with a tag on Kinkaid. I believe there was a phone number on the tag that I called and left the information. I got a phone call back within the next could days and a guy went over the short, recorded history of the fish. Never reported caught and was netted at the north end of the lake 2 months prior. We caught her casting in 20ft of water in the central part of the lake.

Try emailing Steve Pallo with your information: steve.pallo@illinois.gov

Shawn Hirst is the biologist for Kinkaid. Contact him directly (Pallo probably has a lot on his plate as IL Chief of Fisheries...) with the following info:

"If you catch a tagged MUE [muskie] from Kinkaid Lake DO NOT REMOVE THE TAG. Please contact Shawn Hirst, District 21 Fisheries Biologist at 618/687-4546 with the following information: date of catch, length of MUE, tag number (If number is covered with algae simply scrap the algae away with your fingernail or a knife). Anyone providing a tag number will receive the history of that particular fish."

Just a follow up, I called Shawn Hirst and he called back this mourning. The fish was netted back in march 21 2007, and was 32". it was 40" as of sunday.
Thats 4" per year, not bad! Thanks again guys for all your help.
