Okay I think you're looking up into Beaver Creek on the right and is that the rock they call Big Mama?

OK...I was wrong on my last two guesses, so I pulled out my map and here goes. This is coming out of the lake ten area heading North toward the Dam. West shorline.

    Post Turtle Pics

Does anybody have pics of walleyes hiding in the stumps...we can quess where the stumps are. (Just kidding) Blue Ranger would have the advantage with his side imaging sonar.

Anyway, enjoying the pics.....can't wait for summer.

Default Looks like mikesgotone got that one

Mikesgotone got the one I put out there. This rock bar is under water during high/normal water levels. You will bang into it, because it's only about a foot under. We call it Skunk Rock, because it has white stripes running across it. I've met lots of people that have lost lower units on it. I don't think it is marked on any maps either.

LundAngler, got the next one put up by Paul.

    Here is another one,

Yes Lund Angler did get and the answer right, the answer is in the picture name Sandy Banks.

I assume "Sandy Banks" is a flowage term not a family term. It was the first landmark that my father and uncles showed us and of course we have passed it along to the next generation. It can be seen from a long way when on the south end of the flowage. And if you ever get lost it can help you get your bearings.

Here is one of my favorite Flowage stories (completely true and not embellished at all). During my brother John's first ever trip to the flowage in 1967 they pushed off from AL's Place (later Fort Flambeau) heading to the island with the boat totally full of gear. Three boats left together but my dad was running the motor in John’s boat and it was a 5 hp. The other two boats had BIG motors (a 9.9 and a 15 hp). So during the portage the other two boats pulled away from dads. The motor broke down in Lake 10 in front of Sandy Banks. When my dad was unsuccessful getting the motor started right away, he set up a pole for John to keep him occupied. As some of you might know it is not a good place to fish, it is deep water but just a sand bottom in that area. Well John tells my dad that he has a snag. Dad could see that it wasn't and tells my brother to set the hook! John said it felt like a boot coming in with very little fight at all. It was a three pound walleye and that was John's first fish ever at the flowage. We have tried the same spot many times over the years, and I have never caught a fish there. It is a story that has been shared many times over the years at our campsite. The other boats realized there was a problem after about 1/2 an hour when they did not arrive at the camp site. So they went back and gave my dad a tow with the BIG 15 hp motor.

In those days we could fish the entire Memorial Day weekend and not see another boat except for our group. I know that sounds amazing but it is true.

    Default Reaffirms my feelings

Those are some great photos. Just wonderful views everywhere you look. Reaffirms my feelings about what an absolutely beautiful place the TFF is.

Just wish the spearing hadn't..........OK, OK, I'll let it go.

We're going to have soft water pretty soon. I like Blue's thoughts on getting after the crappies. I'm rigged and ready.

Ive got stuck on that rock bar when it was barely under water, Ive also caught some smallies on that rock bar. Next one was taken from beaver flats looking north along the east shore.

Gee. I should have known which rock that was. I just didn't recognize it with such low water and when I wasn't hitting it and taking out my lower unit!

    Hey Tiny -

I will venture a guess. Are you sitting in Baraboo looking towards the big water?

    Great photos! I appreciate them.

    Default Gus, not even close.....

Gus, you are way off the mark on that one. But thanks for trying!

Speaking of wood cutting, that sounds like a good idea. Maybe I'll get Fluffy out there this weekend. Should be able to get around in the woods by now. Its going to be a bad weekend weather wise, so time to drop a few trees.

Who's next, thought this would be an easy one?

Sorry to say this Scott, but you missed.

Here is another shot of the same location. The fog was so thick that it distorts the image.
