Default Nice weather and big fish

We have spent the past few days driving down the lake in search of big Lake Trout. The first day we fished was very windy and very cold but made the trip anyway. We managed to stick it out for a couple of hrs and Rylan picked up the only fish but the biggest fish of the three trips we have made in past 3 days. We headed back the next day and fished for about 4 hrs and picked up 2 nice Lake Trout. Today was the nicest day but still a little windy, we picked up one Laker and a Big Northern. All the fish were caught on a white tube tipped with a minnow, we were jiggin within 5 or 6 ft of the bottom and would occasionaly drop the tube right to the bottom and stir up the mud. We were fishing a large flat that averages 34 ft but has 50 or 60 ft off of a small nearby island. Tons of fun.

We are not catching alot of these big fish but we always manage one or two big fish each time out. There are places where you can pick up better #'s of fish but they are alot smaller. The lake is getting sloppy as we have had a couple of very warm days and today is no exception, we are expecting a high of 46 f today and around 50 tomorrow so its going to get tough to get to these fish soon. We were out two days ago and picked up one real nice fish and are heading out today if we can for one more try, then its back to Crappies, Perch and Walleyes for awhile.
