    Default Fishing Report

    Butternut lake will have a fishing tournament on Saturday. Contact Dick & Joan's resort for info. Crappies are being caught using jigs tipped with rosie reds in the lake basin. You will need to drill many holes and move with the fish to get a good bite. Perch are also being caught using the same technique. Northerns are biting on large shinners in shallow water. concentrate on the weed beds around the south end of the island.
    Lake trout fishing on the big lake has been good. fishing in 185ft north of madeline island using large jigs tipped with herring. Ice conditions are fairly consistant but caution is advised when on Superior.

    Question walleyes on butternut

    are they still getting em on the north end or is there some walleyes below the island? rock structure 8-12ft and mud flats?
