The warm up in the weather has triggered some very good action for ice
anglers in the Eagle River area. Best success comes to those who are
mobile, drill a lot of holes, and use electronics. Don't stay in one spot.
Some real nice fish are being caught, along with the usual run of smaller
ones.

Northern in the Eagle River area putting on a strong all day bite in and
around the weeds in 15 feet of water or less. Use a large shiner under a
tip-up.

Walleye action in the Eagle River area is good and improving steadily. Fish
30 feet of water or less, along hard break edges. Use a medium shiner or
walleye sucker under a tip-up. Also, jigging spoons tipped with a minnow
head or waxie are producing. Best bite is midday to just after sunset.


Perch are biting well in the Eagle River area. Fish sand flats in 20 feet
of water or less. Use a jig tipped with a spike or waxie, or a crappie
minnow or fathead under a slip bobber.

Crappie are hitting over mud flats in 30 feet of water or less. The crappies
are suspending 2 to 6 feet off the bottom. Use a crappie minnow under a
slip bobber, or a small jig tipped with a waxie.
