Very cold temps this week (28 below) kept anglers heading out to a min. Looks nice for the weekend.

Ice Conditions 20 to 28 inches.

Still hearing good reports on the Walleyes, Sunset the best time to fish. Small shiners working best for bait. Try to find some deepwater structure such as rocks, midlake humps or some kind of structure change. The walleyes are just picking up the bait, light bite! At this time of the year we always set up a jig pole in the shack with a slip bobber (just big enough to hold up the bait) # 10 treble hook a colored split shot and use a large fathead for bait. Set your slip bobber so your bait is about 6 inches of the bottom. When the bite is light this set up is deadly! Give it a try!

Crappie action increased this week with some nice crappies caught. Jig with small #12 rockers tipped with a wiggler. Red seems to be the color to use. These crappies been suspended so use your vexilar to locate them.

Bluegills are still alittle finicky but we did see some nice catches, Orange and Chatruese moon jigs tipped with a red spike are the gills favorite treat. Deep water is where they are hanging out.

Perch are on an early afternoon bite with some big fish caught this week. Baby Shiners are still the bait to use. Good bite on Lake Alice.

If Pike are your thing you will be in for some good action. Nice fish up to 31 inches this week. Most of the flowages are hot right now. Just setup your tip ups along the weed edges. Use Large shiners for bait and fish in 5 feet of water.
