    Smile Little 'eyes?

Does anybody out there have any ideas why there are so many 10"-14" walleyes being caught? Don't get me wrong they are fun to catch but I was just curious why it seems like this winter we are getting many more than previous years. The first few I caught I was thinking I had a decent perch coming up. These will be nice fish in a couple of years. Have made a couple trips down this year so far with some good results. The best bait to date has been the Moonshine shiver minnows tipped with a minnow head. I've been checking this site out for a couple of years and figured it was time to start posting. Keep up the great job with the site!!!!!

Welcome to the site. LBDN is the primary nursery area for upper Green Bay. Always lots of dinks in the upper bay. Generally, you'll run into more keepers in the deeper water (25+FOW,) or when fishing south of Gladstone.

    Chris,
Thanks for the welcome, I've been fishing in 32+(FOW) and surprised to get all those smaller fish. Like I said it's still enjoyable to catch fish. I've fished the mouth of the Escanaba river quite a bit in previous years. Not a lot of luck there but have seen some big walleyes and also whitefish with the aquaview. We've had our best luck out of Kipling fishing in 32(FOW).
