Thread: Fishing Report-New Year's Weekend

    Default Fishing Report-New Year's Weekend

Been a delay in reports on here, my appologies.

Icefishing has been nothing short of fantastic for us here in Northern Wisconsin. Big walleyes and lots of pike, with a few big ones as well.

Walleyes - Deep, cisco-based lakes have been our target, as we've been trying to figure out some big fish patterns. Large shiners on tip-ups have been best, with fish coming on suckers as well. Some action with jigging techniques using Swedish Pimples and Rapalas too. Depths are anywhere from 18 to 30 feet on the edges of mid-lake reefs and steep shorelines. Evenings have been best.

Pike - The usual: Shiners on tip-ups around shallow weeds. We've mostly been targeting action water in order to get a bunch of fish to pickle. All times of the day producing good spurts of action.
